Guide
Clothing manufacturer Turkey

Which clothing manufacturers are there in Turkey?
Plenty, but far from every party that calls itself a clothing manufacturer in Turkey is actually a manufacturer. Often it is a middleman: you send in your tech pack, someone passes it on to a factory you never get to see, and the margin you pay shows up nowhere in the product. Are you choosing a clothing manufacturer yourself? Then first ask who actually does the sewing.
With us, that link isn't there. We work with our own workshops in Turkey, which are family owned. Your request goes straight to production, corrections on a sample don't pass through three sets of hands, and you have one fixed point of contact in the Netherlands who works directly with production.
Why have clothing made in Turkey?
For many brands, Turkey is the best balance between quality, price and speed. The country has its own cotton industry and factories that have worked for European fashion brands for decades. You notice it in 100% cotton fleece and jersey: in how it feels, how the colour holds and how a piece looks after dozens of washes.
The distance helps too. With a time difference of one to two hours, you simply work within office hours, and because there are no months of sea freight in between, you can produce again within the same season after a sold-out drop. Transport to the Netherlands takes 7 days on average, sometimes longer because of customs, and we pay the import duties.
What does it cost to have clothing made in Turkey?
From 10 pieces the prices are fixed: a T-shirt €29.99, a longsleeve €38 and a hoodie or sweater €39.99 per piece, with a print and a printed neck label, excluding VAT. For other products and larger quantities you get a custom price.
Because there are no intermediaries, you pay the production price plus our margin, not that of a chain of middlemen. We pay the import duties and customs; shipping to your address is added per box. Your quote states exactly what is included in the price.
How many pieces do you have to order from a Turkish factory?
Anyone who approaches a Turkish factory directly almost always runs into a minimum of 100 to 500 pieces per style. For a brand that is starting out or testing a new style, that is often the difference between starting and not starting.
With us you start with 10 pieces per style per colour, on our base model, and you can combine styles within one production run. That is possible because your small series runs in our own workshop alongside larger productions for brands that do order normal quantities.
When is another country a better choice than Turkey?
Honest advice works better than steering everything towards one country. If you want garment-dye or luxury finishes, we recommend Italy, with a longer lead time. If you run large volumes with complex branding, such as all-over prints, multicolour embroidery or custom trims, China is often more logical. Do allow for sea freight and import formalities there, which easily make the whole process take 3 to 4 months.
If you want to produce within the EU, for example with GOTS cotton in premium series, Portugal is the obvious choice, on request. We choose based on your run size, budget and quality requirements, not on where we happen to have capacity.
What brands ask us about production in Turkey
Can I visit the factory in Turkey?
We only plan a visit to the workshop when it is really necessary, and in consultation. We request audit reports such as BSCI for you on request. You don't get a live view during production; you get photos of your sample or order as soon as it reaches us.
How long does production in Turkey take?
Allow at least 5 to 6 weeks for the sample and then at least 5 to 6 weeks for bulk production, each time after payment. Your quote states the schedule that applies to your style and quantity.
What does shipping from Turkey to the Netherlands cost?
Transport from our workshop to the Netherlands takes 7 days on average, sometimes longer because of customs, and we pay the import duties. Shipping to your address is added per box: €15 per box in the Netherlands. The exact amount is in your quote, so you don't face costs afterwards.
How do I start production in Turkey?
Tell us what you want made, how many pieces and when. We make the tech pack and send you a sample first; the bulk only starts after you approve.
