In short
We set the type, size and position of each label in your tech pack, so every piece in your run is finished the same way.
Why do clothing labels belong in your production?
A garment without your own labels is someone else's garment with your print on it. That sounds harsh, but a customer sees it as soon as they read the name of a blank manufacturer in the neck. Labels are not an accessory to your production: they make your product your product.
That is why, with us, they are a fixed part of your style: in a small run, a printed neck label and a care label are included in the price. A repeat run a year later therefore gets exactly the same label.
If you are looking for the broader route, so producing under your own brand name including fit, fabric and packaging, start with private label clothing. Here it is about the labels and the finishing.
How much does it cost to have clothing labels made?
In a small run, a printed neck label and a care label are included in the price per garment. A woven, printed-in or embossed label is also possible, at an extra cost, because it falls outside the standard. What that costs depends on the type, the size and the number of labels per piece.
The sample costs from €150, depending on the style. Your own neck label is never in the sample; it only comes in production. Tell us which style you are having made and which labels you want, and the price per piece including labels will be in your quote.
What should you watch for with clothing labels?
Labels rarely go wrong in the design and often in the execution. We record these agreements per style.
| The exact placement in centimetres | How many centimetres below the neck seam the neck label goes, and in which side seam the care label is inserted. |
|---|---|
| The size in proportion to the garment | A label that works on a tee looks too small on an oversized hoodie. We fix the dimensions per style. |
| How the label is attached | Sewn in on one side, as a loop or across the full width: that decides how the label lies after washing. |
| Colour codes instead of colour descriptions | Colour codes for thread and print, so the label has the same colour in a repeat run. |
| Packaging as part of the same plan | Polybag, hangtag and box belong to the same decision, not to a separate reorder later. |
What brands ask us about labels
What is the difference between a woven and a printed label?
A woven label is built up from yarn, a printed label is printed on. Choose woven if your logo is clean and the label has to keep its colour in the wash; choose printed for a graphic logo with fine details or gradients.
What should be on a care label?
At least the fibre composition, the washing instructions and the size, matched to the fabric you have chosen. Which details are legally required for your sales market, we check per production before the label is inserted.
Can I get a tagless neck label instead of a sewn-in label?
Yes, your brand is then printed directly in the neck. Do pay attention to the fabric: on heavy fleece, a sewn-in or woven label often works better.
Can I order labels separately, without production with you?
Yes, from 500 pieces: separate labels and hangtags for clothing you have made elsewhere. The price depends on the type of label; you get it in your quote.
