Language

This privacy statement is a translation of our Dutch privacy statement. If the two differ, the Dutch version applies.

Who processes your data?

MakeaLabel is the controller for personal data collected through this website.

MakeaLabel and Meta Platforms Ireland Limited are joint controllers for collecting and transmitting data with the Meta Pixel and the Meta Conversions API. What Meta does with that data afterwards is Meta's own responsibility. The arrangement between us and Meta is set out in Meta's Controller Addendum: https://www.facebook.com/legal/controller_addendum.

You can reach us at info@makealabel.nl or on WhatsApp, Mon to Sat 9:00 to 18:00 CET.

Company details: MakeaLabel, Marssteden 122, 7547 TD Enschede, the Netherlands. Chamber of Commerce (KvK) number 69849404, VAT identification number NL224892083B01. Our registered company name will be added here.

Which data do we process?

Through the quote and contact form we process the details you give us yourself. If you consent to marketing cookies, we also measure your visit with the Meta Pixel and the Meta Conversions API; see Meta Pixel and Meta Conversions API. We keep a record of your cookie choice without your IP address; see Cookies and similar technologies.

  • Your name
  • Your email address
  • Your phone number, required for a request: we follow up on WhatsApp
  • The content of your message, including what you tell us about your project

Purposes and legal bases

  • Answering your request, preparing a quote and staying in touch about it: performance of a contract or steps at your request before entering into one (Article 6(1)(b) GDPR); general questions: our legitimate interest in answering you (Article 6(1)(f)).
  • Following up your request via WhatsApp and preparing a draft reply: the same legal bases.
  • Measuring which Facebook and Instagram ads work and showing our ads to the right people (Meta Pixel and Meta Conversions API): only with your consent (Article 6(1)(a) GDPR and Article 11.7a of the Dutch Telecommunications Act).
  • Recording your cookie choice so we can demonstrate what you chose: our legal obligation to demonstrate consent (Article 6(1)(c) and Article 7(1) GDPR).

We do not take decisions about you based solely on automated processing, and we do not send newsletters unless you ask for them separately.

Cookies and similar technologies

We only use cookies and similar technologies, such as browser storage and pixels, when they are needed to run the site or when you consent to them. You can change or withdraw your choice with the button above or via Cookie settings at the bottom of every page. Withdrawing is as easy as giving consent and does not affect how you can use the site.

Your choice applies for 12 months, after which we ask again. Fonts and images are loaded from our own server, so your visit is not passed on to third parties for them.

Meta Pixel and Meta Conversions API

What we do

If you consent to marketing cookies, we use the Meta Pixel and the Meta Conversions API. They show us which Facebook and Instagram ads lead to visits and requests, and Meta uses the data to show our ads to people they are relevant to.

We also use the data to target our ads: Meta Advantage+ uses it to find people our ads are relevant to, and in Meta we build audiences, such as previous visitors to this site, who are shown our ads again.

Which data

In your browser: the cookies _fbp and _fbc and a random visitor ID. Sent to Meta: your IP address, details about your browser and device, the addresses of the pages you visit, clicks on WhatsApp, email and quote buttons, and the steps of the price estimate.

If you send a request, your browser and our server also send your email address, phone number, first and last name and country in hashed form (SHA-256). Hashing turns data into a fixed code. The code cannot be turned back into, for example, your email address, but Meta does compare it with the hashed details of Facebook and Instagram accounts. It therefore remains personal data. We never send the content of your message to Meta.

How

Directly from your browser to Meta, through the Conversions API Gateway set up for our Meta pixel, and for a request from our server to Meta. Meta removes duplicate reports itself. Who operates the gateway for us will be added here.

Legal basis

Your consent. Without consent we do not load the Meta Pixel, do not set Meta cookies and do not send anything to Meta from our server either.

Who is responsible

MakeaLabel and Meta Platforms Ireland Limited are joint controllers for collection and transmission. After that, Meta uses the data as an independent controller, including to show and improve ads. Meta's privacy policy explains how: https://www.facebook.com/privacy/policy/.

Retention

_fbp and _fbc: 90 days, renewed for 90 days on every visit with consent. Visitor ID: until your consent expires (after 12 months) or until you withdraw it. Meta keeps event data for up to two years.

Withdrawing

Switch off Marketing via Cookie settings at the bottom of every page. We stop immediately: the pixel stops, we delete _fbp, _fbc and the visitor ID, and our server no longer sends anything to Meta. Data sent before you withdrew was processed lawfully. If you want Meta to delete data it already holds, you can exercise that right with Meta through Meta's privacy policy; we will help if you ask us at info@makealabel.nl.

Who receives your data?

We do not sell your data. These service providers process data on our behalf under data processing agreements:

  • Vercel: hosting of this website, including technical log files.
  • Neon, via Vercel: the database of our customer system, which holds your request and the record of your cookie choice.
  • Resend: sends the email with your request to our inbox.
  • CommuniQate: forwards your request to our WhatsApp system so we can follow up there.
  • Anthropic: prepares a draft reply to your request for our staff.
  • The operator of the Conversions API Gateway: processes measurement data for Meta, only with your consent.

Only with your consent does Meta Platforms Ireland Limited also receive data. Meta is not a processor but a joint and then independent controller; see Meta Pixel and Meta Conversions API.

Transfers outside the European Economic Area

Meta Platforms Ireland shares data with Meta Platforms, Inc. in the United States. Meta Platforms, Inc. is certified under the EU-US Data Privacy Framework, for which the European Commission adopted an adequacy decision on 10 July 2023.

The Conversions API Gateway runs on Amazon Web Services and Google Cloud servers in the United States; its transfer basis will be added here. Where Anthropic, Resend, Vercel and the database process data, and on which basis, will also be added here.

How long do we keep your data?

Retention periods for requests will be added here once we have set them. Our starting point: requests that do not lead to an order are kept no longer than necessary, and records relating to orders are kept for the statutory retention period.

  • Your cookie choice in your browser: 12 months, after which we ask again.
  • The record of your choice (a random code, your choice, the text version, language, page and time, without IP address): 36 months, then deleted automatically.
  • Cookies and visitor ID for Meta: see Meta Pixel and Meta Conversions API.

Would you like us to delete your data sooner? Let us know and we will, unless a legal obligation requires us to keep it.

Security

This website is only offered over a secure connection (https). Form data is sent encrypted and only reaches the staff who handle your request and the service providers listed above.

The form contains a hidden field that detects spam bots. That field does not process personal data.

Your rights

If you gave consent, you can withdraw it at any time via Cookie settings at the bottom of every page. This is as easy as giving consent and does not affect how you can use the site.

You have the right to access, correct or delete your data. You can also object to the processing, ask us to restrict it or ask for your data to be transferred. Send your request to info@makealabel.nl; we respond within four weeks.

If you disagree with how we handle your data, you can lodge a complaint with the Dutch Data Protection Authority (Autoriteit Persoonsgegevens).

Changes to this statement

We update this privacy statement when our website or the way we work changes. The date at the top of this page shows when we last did so.
