Sizes, fabric, GSM, colour codes, placements, labels and packaging go into one document. You read it through and correct it: this is the cheapest moment to change your mind.

    Sample to the tech pack

Your first real piece, made to the specifications.

Read more about Sample to the tech pack

The workshop makes a sample exactly to the specifications. Allow at least 5 to 6 weeks after payment. What you hold in your hands is the physical check on what is on paper.

  4. 04

    Corrections and approval

If something is off, we adjust the tech pack. Not verbally.

If the length is off or the print sits too high, we adjust the tech pack for production instead of agreeing it verbally. If you want a new sample first, it costs the same as the first one.

    Bulk and repeats

The bulk and every repeat run work from the same document.

After your approval and payment, the bulk runs in at least 5 to 6 weeks, checked against the same document. If you produce again later, you start from exactly these specifications.

Guide

Tech pack service

1 min read

In short

You supply your idea, and the workshop then makes exactly what you mean.

Why do you need a tech pack?

A tech pack, also called a production specification or spec sheet, is the technical description of a single garment. A design shows what something should look like; a tech pack records how it is made. In custom clothing production, it is therefore the first step. Still deciding between made or printed? For just a print on an existing garment, you don't need one.

Without a tech pack, the factory fills in the gaps itself, and you only notice when the box opens: a neck width that is off, a print that sits two centimetres too low, or a colour that just misses your brand colour.

If you want to know how a size chart works and which mistakes creep into it most often, read the article about the tech pack. This page is about the next step: having one made for your style.

How much does a tech pack service cost?

A quick check of your own files is free: we look at whether your logo and design are suitable and set up correctly. A full tech pack is not a free extra; you hear upfront what it costs for your style.

If you don't have a design yet, our designer makes a digital mock-up and makes your product production-ready, for €99.99 excl. VAT. We then produce from that mock-up, from 10 pieces per style on a base garment.

A good tech pack saves us as many misunderstandings as it saves you, and it is the cheapest way to keep an expensive mistake out of production.

What do you need to have a tech pack made?

You don't need a pattern maker or a design degree. The more you supply, the faster it goes, but with an idea and a reference garment we already get a long way.

You: your idea, sketch or moodboardA drawing, a screenshot or a photo of something that captures the direction well.
You: a reference garment if you have oneA garment whose fit is right is the fastest starting point there is; we take its measurements.
You: your logo and brand coloursVector files for print and embroidery, plus your colour codes if you already have them.
Us: fabric and GSM adviceA concrete proposal for fabric, weight and construction, before it goes into the tech pack.
Us: the size chart and constructionMeasurements per size, tolerances, seam types and finishing, written down production-ready.
Us: placements, labels and packagingPrint and label positions in centimetres, the care label and the packaging, recorded in one document.

What brands ask us about tech packs

Do I need a tech pack if I'm only having 10 pieces made?

Yes, and especially then. With a small run, you can't spread a misunderstanding over hundreds of pieces: if the neck width or the print placement is off, your whole run is off. The tech pack is the insurance against that.

Can I supply my own tech pack?

Please do. If you already have a tech pack or a size chart from a previous production, send it with your request. We check it for completeness and add what a workshop still needs before a sample is made.

Who does the tech pack belong to once it's finished?

The pattern and the technical specifications stay with us; you receive the approved sample. We don't sign an NDA, but we do confirm in writing that we won't share or copy your design.

Tech pack first. Then your first drop.

Tell us what you want to make and how many pieces, with a sketch, photo or reference garment. We put it on paper and prepare your quote.
