Why are 10 pieces only possible on a base style?

Small series run alongside larger productions for brands that do order normal quantities. That is why 10 pieces only works with something simple: a plain t-shirt, longsleeve, hoodie or sweater on our base fabric, with a print.

Our base fabric is heavy jersey of 220 to 260 GSM for t-shirts and longsleeves, in a boxy fit, and heavy fleece of 450 GSM, 100% cotton, for hoodies and sweaters, in an oversized boxy fit. Your own fabric, your own colour or your own fit falls outside those 10 pieces and has its own minimum.

That way you can test a style without financing a warehouse full of stock. For many new brands that is the better sum: start with a good basic premium product and only scale up once it sells.

What is the minimum order per style?

Ten pieces per style and per colour, for a t-shirt, longsleeve, hoodie or sweater. With a run of ten you choose at most two sizes per colour, for example five medium and five large; if you want the full range from S to XXL, that needs a larger run, from 50 per colour.

You cannot split those ten across styles. Each style has its own pattern and its own machine setting: five hoodies plus five tees are two styles that each need ten, and the same hoodie in two colours also counts as two.

Other products have their own minimum: a zip hoodie, jogger or shorts from 25, a cotton tracksuit from 25 sets, a polo from 35, and bags, knitwear, shirts, trousers, blazers and jackets with embroidery from 100 per style.

Your own pattern, with your own cut or fit, is made to order from 150 to 200 pieces per style and per colour, because the fabric is bought in first and the whole roll is used.

What does a small collection cost in total?

An example with the fixed prices on this page. You start a streetwear line with two styles, a t-shirt and a hoodie.

Starting smaller is possible from 10 pieces per style and per colour: 10 t-shirts and 10 hoodies together cost €699.80 excluding VAT. Your starting investment and your stock risk are then a factor lower. For a first drop that is almost always the wiser side of the trade-off.
