  • A small stack of T-shirts next to a tall pallet of boxes.

    25 pieces

    A custom cut first

Per style, in jersey or fleece. Basic styles from 10.

    Lesson 2.1

  • A mailer bag, a box, a blank card and a phone showing an abstract chart.

Try it now. What do you keep per hoodie?

The calculator from lesson 3.2. It starts with a €70 hoodie and the fixed purchase price of €34.99. Fill in your own costs.

In the lesson you take it further: after shipping and costs per sale, €8.36 is left.

What you keep per piece

From the selling price to what is really left: VAT, purchase price, shipping, packaging, payment fees, returns and advertising.

Left per piece

From revenue to what you keep, euros per piece
Revenue after VAT€57.85
Purchase cost-€34.99
Left per piece€22.86

After these costs you keep €22.86 per sale. Fixed business costs and tax on your profit are not included yet.

This is your sale price after VAT, minus the purchase cost. Shipping and selling costs are still at €0.

Add shipping and selling costs€0.00

On the VAT route we count revenue without 21% VAT and costs excluding VAT. Under the KOR we add 21% VAT to the purchase, shipping, packaging and advertising you entered. Payment fees and returns are counted as the percentage you entered.

Example purchase: a hoodie at €34.99 excluding VAT, the fixed price from 10 pieces. Selling for €70 is twice that purchase price, rounded: the rule of thumb of the owner of Richesse. Fill in your own amounts.

Take a look. From idea to delivery.

The six steps from lesson 1.1, with the real lead times. Scroll along: this is what the lessons look like.

  1. Your idea on paper

Make your design concrete: set the fit, the fabric and where your print goes.

  2. A sample first

A sample takes at least 5 to 6 weeks after payment. From €150 per sample, depending on the style.

  3. You review it

Check your sample for fit, fabric and finish before you approve production.

  4. The run is made

Production takes at least 5 to 6 weeks after payment. This is a separate step after your sample.

  5. Transport to the Netherlands

Shipping to the Netherlands takes 7 days on average.

  6. Your delivery

Your clothing arrives. Check the pieces delivered against what you agreed.

An honest story. And an exam that counts.

The owner of Richesse saved for years and put around €50,000 into a first collection of around 1,000 pieces. He sold them to shops in small quantities: 10 here, 20 there, 50 there. You do not need to start that big.

He tells it himself in lesson 1.4, with what went well and what cost money.

Not passed? You read back and retake it, with new questions. Then your certificate, once the team has approved your final assignment.

What you have at the end

  • A brand plan on one A4 page
  • A budget sheet for your first drop
  • Your selling price and your margin, worked out
  • A chosen production route
  • A completed test with your audience
  • A MakeaLabel certificate, after the final exam
  • A 2% alumni discount on your purchases from MakeaLabel, once you pass the final exam

Who it's for. And who it isn't.

For you

  • You have an idea for your own clothing brand, but have not ordered a sample yet.
  • Your budget is tight, or you do not know yet what it will cost.
  • With or without a KvK registration (the Dutch Chamber of Commerce): you sort that out in lesson 6.2.
  • Under 18? That works, with permission from your parent or guardian.

Not for you

  • You are looking for a revenue promise. We do not give one.
  • You already sell and mainly want to advertise or grow. Then look at the Makerclass or the Masterclass.
  • You already know exactly what you want made. Then tell us your idea straight away.

Questions about the Starterclass

Can I take a look for free first?

Yes. With the free whitepaper you get an account straight away, with the first three lessons of the Starterclass. No payment details needed.

What does the Starterclass cost?

€99, including VAT. If you continue afterwards, you only pay the difference: the Makerclass then costs you €400 instead of €499.

How do I pay?

By invoice. After your request, Moneybird, our accounting software, sends you an invoice for €99. You pay online through the link in that email, or by bank transfer. You do not enter any payment details on this page.

When do I get access?

The first three lessons straight after your request, in your account. The whole Starterclass once your invoice is paid: you then get an email. You learn at your own pace.

Is the course in English?

Yes, or in Dutch. You choose your language in your account and switch whenever you like. The lessons, the quizzes, your certificate, the emails and the assistant on WhatsApp follow that language.

Can I ask questions?

Yes. The Starterclass comes with an assistant on WhatsApp: you ask your questions on WhatsApp and we help you further. You link your mobile number in your account and ask your questions on MakeaLabel's business WhatsApp number: there is no separate academy number. If more is needed, the team joins in, and then you get an answer from the team itself, within one working day, usually sooner. Want to have something made, or is your sample ready? Then the assistant helps you with a production request with us. Having it made elsewhere is fine too.

All 12 questions

What comes after the Starterclass?

The Makerclass, from 1 December 2026 and by invitation: depth in every topic, our stories as entrepreneurs, marketing and your own shop with AI. You get in with your Starterclass certificate, proof of your steps and the link to your shop. There's no limit on places. Have all three and we'll invite you.

Do I get a discount as an alumnus?

Yes, if you pass the exam. Pass the Starterclass final exam and, as a MakeaLabel alumnus, you get a 2% discount on your purchases from MakeaLabel. That is an extra benefit, on top of your certificate. With the Makerclass it is 5%, with the Masterclass 10%. The discount applies for two years after your exam, on production and blank garments from our wholesale range, not on samples. If you pass more than one class, the highest percentage applies. The team puts the discount on your quote, not on top of other promotions or sharp prices for large quantities.

I am under 18. Can I take part?

Yes, with written permission from your parent or guardian. When you request the Starterclass, you fill in their name and email address. They get an email asking for their permission, and only then do we send the invoice.

Who do I learn from?

From MakeaLabel, a production company itself. With stories from the owner of Richesse. Your assignments get feedback that the MakeaLabel team assesses.

Do I have to have my clothing made at MakeaLabel afterwards?

No. We are a production company ourselves and we say so openly, but you also learn to compare quotes and factories. A credit only applies with us; you can have your clothing made anywhere.

Do you promise results?

No. No revenue, no success within a set time. What you do get is the sums, the steps and the mistakes you can avoid, with an assignment that the team assesses.

Start free. Or request the Starterclass.

Your email address is enough for the whitepaper and three lessons. Want everything? Then request the Starterclass.
